Microsoft and Apple will release the Web version of their "office" products!

There is news that over time, all Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, will come out as compact Web applications and move to the Internet: see the article: “Office Web Online Applications will support Safari”
Thus, using the example of Microsoft, we see that modern Software projects inevitably seek to merge with Internet projects and, as a result, Software companies are looking for opportunities to integrate with Internet companies.
We are all witnesses how fiercely Microsoft tried to unite with Yahoo, as if all further fate of Microsoft depended on this union.

And of course, Apple will not remain on the side of this process, but will actively participate in it, just releasing the Web versions of its “office” products - Pages, Keynote and Numbers.
Apple experts indirectly hinted at this by the way, and it has also been rumored for at least a year that “Web versions” of Pages, Keynote and Numbers will soon (possibly already in 2009) appear in “.Mac” (the current MobileMe). These rumors have already been discussed in the article: “Web-apps & Apple Safari”

Software business for Apple, although not a major one, but without it, this company would be an ordinary manufacturer of PC clones. It is in software products, in particular MacOS X, that Apple finds its uniqueness and inherent only in this company charm. Without the software business, Apple will cease to exist as a unique company.
And since we see that Software-business ceases to be a separate business and strive for rebirth into an Internet-business, then Apple too sooner or later, independently or having united with someone (like Yahoo or Google) will have to restructure its Software products. in Web2.0-Apps!
And this is another confirmation that Apple’s Internet business will necessarily expand, which the Apple & Yahoo merger would greatly contribute to.

Steve Jobs recently said that Apple is ready to spend $ 25 billion to buy some IT company - see the article: "Apple is ready to bite off a piece of Silicon Valley"
And on the spot Apple would try to unite with Yahoo!
Yahoo! Shares Inc. constantly falling and already reached prices of only $ 12.1, and the market capitalization of the entire company Yahoo! now ~ $ 16.8 billion [see: Finance.google.com ]
Well, the award and the established connections of Steve Jobs with the leadership of Yahoo! and so the whole Yahoo! you can buy just for the $ 25 billion that Apple has accumulated.
')
If Apple had merged with Yahoo !, Steve Ballmer would have been beside himself with rage with Bill Gates, because for $ 44 billion they could not gobble up the obstinate Yahoo!
Combining Apple & Yahoo is really possible, because Steve Jobs clearly has advantages over sweaty, bald, decent-looking guys who gallop along the catwalk and belch loud screams along with their own saliva ... (Steve Ballmer - Microsoft is known for his eccentric behavior on stage).
And the main difference between Apple and Microsoft is a sense of taste, which sometimes becomes decisive when choosing a partner :)
