“The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has refused the company Kokuna Holdings Limited to acquire 100% of the shares of the Russian Internet company Begun from Rambler Media. Kokuna is a Cypriot company owned by the US Google. ” Statements
On the one hand, perhaps the decision of the FAS is not very pleasant. After all, the healthy competition that Google could have created for Yandex would hardly have had a bad effect on end users. On the other hand, it seems to me that it’s better to have domestic developments in domestic hands. After all, if the transaction had all happened, there would have been another (fat) channel through which the money would have gone from Russia to the west.
