The network has information that next week, on October 29, the beta version of the second fix pack will be available for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
According to Mike Nash (Mike Nash), Vice President of Windows Product Management at Microsoft, the beta version of SP2 will include all fixes that were released after the release of the first fix pack and contain changes aimed at providing support for new types of hardware. Additionally, the package will contain the following components:
- Windows Search 4.0. Improved version of the search, which aims to accelerate the search process and the issuance of a more relevant result;
- Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack. This package aims to provide support for the latest Bluetooth technology specifications;
- Ability to record media on Blu-Ray discs;
- Support for UTC timestamps for the exFAT file system, aimed at fixing file synchronization in different time zones.
