Many laptops are equipped with a button on / off bluetooth, but the adapter is missing.
When a bluetooth is still needed, you have to connect an external bluetooth adapter into a free usb connector, which sometimes gets in the way.
(using the example of an Acer laptop) I solved this “problem” as follows (cautiously many photos)
1. bought usb bluetooth adapter

2. gently disassembled)

3. on the laptop (Acer tm4150) the connector for the staff bluetooth was found under the keyboard - 8-pin connector

larger:

')
4. get rid of usb-connector

5. remember usb pinout (or ask google.ru)

Pin-1 3.3 volts
Pin-2 USB D-
Pin-3 USB D +
Pin-4 GND
6. connector on the mother, though the 8-pin, used for the Bluetooth only 4:
(a little google.com)
Pin-1 3.3 volts
Pin-2 GND
Pin-3 USB D +
Pin-4 USB D-
as you can see we need to connect in the trace sequence:
[i] mother - bluetooth [/ i]
Pin-1 - 1
Pin-2 - 4
Pin-3 - 3
Pin-4 - 2
7. For this, I found a 4-pin connector (from ibm)

but in principle, without having such a connector, you can solder straight, the main thing is neat;)
8. solder the connector to the bluetooth in the required order

9. isolate, in order to avoid any closures (I insulated with a wide electrical tape)

10. connect and fasten if necessary (I did it on a double-sided tape to the modem)

11. collect the laptop. turn on.
and we have a bluetooth adapter in the laptop, which is controlled by a button on the panel)

enjoy!
I will add: all Acer laptops that were in my hands had such an 8-pin connector, only their location differed (sometimes it took them a long time to reach them), and this “modding” allows us to get rid of the sticking usb adapter and free one usb to noute.
In the next article I will tell you how to build a 3G modem into a laptop, or how to color a laptop (will depend on your mood;))
