Kaspersky Lab has upgraded Anti-Spam to version 3.0

Kaspersky Lab announces the release of Kaspersky Anti-Spam 3.0, a new version of the spam filtering system. According to the developers, the product has retained all the advantages of the previous version, and also includes many changes of technological, architectural and functional nature.

Kaspersky Anti-Spam is a anti-spam tool based on a multi-layered email filtering system. The technology has no analogues in the market of linguistic analysis of emails and allows the system to independently analyze the text of the letter and filter out unwanted correspondence. In addition, Kaspersky Anti-Spam is the only system that takes into account the linguistics of Russian-language spam.

The most striking difference between Kaspersky Anti-Spam 3.0 and the previous version of the product is the introduction of an upgraded filtering core of the product. It provides "a significant increase in system performance and stability with low requirements for RAM and low load on Internet traffic by reducing the amount of content filtration database updates containing new samples of spam and the rules for its analysis." At the same time, a new system for delivering updates of content filtration databases is used.

Among the technological innovations of the Kaspersky Anti-Spam solution is a reaction to new spam emails in real time. Thanks to the new technology Urgent Detection System (UDS), the product, in addition to traditional updates on a schedule, uses instant requests to the server. This allows you to block unwanted emails within a second after the detection of a pattern sent by spam analysts at Kaspersky Lab.

As follows from the press release of developers, Kaspersky Anti-Spam 3.0 is characterized by a significant increase in filtering efficiency, achieved through a significant improvement in all methods of analyzing correspondence. In particular, the algorithms for the study of HTML-objects of mail messages were upgraded, which increased the effectiveness of dealing with various spammers' tricks aimed at bypassing filtering systems.

In addition, the system of analyzing graphic attachments was improved. Now Kaspersky Anti-Spam 3.0 is able to recognize and filter out even slightly different in terms of graphic performance unwanted messages, which are distinguished by color, adding dots, border tone, etc. Also, the quality level of spam filtering has improved due to the expansion and improvement of the mechanism for analyzing email headers and adding the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) and Spam URL Realtime Blocklists (SURBL) services to the list of email correspondence research. These services implement an individual mail processing policy and a real-time updated list of addresses from which spam is being sent.
