An example of an X-widget could be a shopping list that you will store on your computer and on your phone. This way you can update it at any time and know what you need to buy in the store.
Another example would be a simple game that you play on a computer, then pause and continue the game on your mobile phone. Ideal when your goal is to score a lot of points.
Another useful example is the online auction where you can follow the auction at home and on the go, and then close the deal at the last minute!

I participate !!! Where to start?First, check out the
Opera Widget SDK , which has an emulator and access to the Opera Widget control panel on Windows Mobile and Symbian phones to help you implement and test your idea.
rulesBefore you start creating a widget, read the following rules:
1. Your X-widget should work both on the emulator widget present in the SDK and on the personal computer.
2. On the emulator, the application must support both the QVGA resolution (in horizontal and vertical orientation) and the desktop computer screen.
3. You can download updated versions of your widgets, but remember that only the latest approved version will be evaluated (be careful when adding and deleting widget characteristics).
4. The maximum possible number of widgets offered is 3, while it is desirable to pay more attention to quality rather than quantity.
5. The coding standard requires that styles and scripts be placed separately.
Register your X widgetTo register X-widget and participate in the competition, you must:
1. Become a member of the My Opera community (

2. Upload your widget to
widgets.opera.com3. Send us a link to your widget using a
special form.4. Fill out the form with the following information:
- The name of your X-widget
- A little information about what the need for your X-widget to work on PC / Mac, and on a mobile phone?
- Any other important information (username / password) that we need to know in order to be able to evaluate your work.
Evaluation of workAll X-widgets will be appreciated by the Opera team of developers and marketers.
