At the national supercomputer forum NSCF-2018 , which takes place these days in Pereslavl-Zalessky, the company T-Platforms in the person of Alexander Murashev, presented a plan to seize the universe the company's business development strategy for the coming years, including its subsidiary Baikal Electronics. Video with the presentation is available here .
Baikal Electronics Company plans to launch a line of processors on the market.
The first of them is the Baikal-M processor, which promises to release (apparently still engineering samples) in the first quarter of 2019, and in the third quarter to present working equipment.
The processor is designed for use in workstations, servers, thin clients, all-in-one computers and laptops.
Characteristics are presented below.
The next Baikal-S processor, which is based on the architecture of the Baikal-M processor, but will have more cores, two more memory channels will be added, etc.
The Baikal-M processor will allow to create multiprocessor solutions: from 2 to 4 pieces per motherboard.
Characteristics are presented below.
Also, according to the speaker, work began on the development of the computing accelerator of the Baikal-H processor on its own architecture. What is this architecture was not voiced.
Preliminary specifications are presented below.
The tasks that the Baikal-H processor will be able to solve are listed on the next slide.
The above-mentioned line of processors will allow to implement high-performance computers with different architectures to solve engineering problems, machine learning tasks and tasks in the field of artificial intelligence.
