Russian web developers will have the opportunity to discuss industry issues at the first all-Russian conference WWW2006Russia. The event differs from the
Russian Internet Forum (RIF) and the
Conference “Internet and Business” (CIB) in its focus on technical specialists - developers of software for the web. “The need for an all-Russian developer meeting was long overdue,” says Oleg Bunin, the conference organizer. “We have neither a publication nor a public open event where we, the developers of Internet applications, could get together and just talk.”
One of the tasks of WWW2006Russia Oleg sees the formation of the industry of web development and standards in it. “Our main problem is the lack of discussion itself,” he says. - There is no site, format, almost no scientific communities. Everyone develops on their own — secretly, without sharing ideas, attitudes and experiences. ” Oleg also mentioned trade unions - these associations, having appeared, could significantly help the qualitative development of the industry.
Thinking through the format and content of WWW2006Russia, its initiators are guided by the www2006.org world conference, as well as by the PHPClub events (the conference of free software developers).

Oleg Bunin explains: “We want to talk, argue, read reports, conduct master classes in such areas as search, mail, the creation of major Internet sites, wap-technology, database, video technology, Ajax, and so on. But all this from the point of view of the developer and for the developer. ”
Answering the question about the expected results of the conference, Oleg said: “I hope that we will feel. Yourselves as an industry, as a community of people united by a common idea - to make this world a little bit better. In our own accessible way, of course. ”
The organizers invite those interested in conducting WWW2006Russia to discuss the project. The first meeting will take place on August 24 at 20.00 at Frunzenskaya Embankment, 18D (Berth bar under the open sky).
