The South Korean government announced a
state
supported by manufacturers of "smart clothes". The government hopes that in the future, Korea will become a trendsetter in this area. “Research and development of smart clothes cannot be left only at the will of the market due to too much risk. Therefore, the government has taken on a supporting role, ”said the representative of the Korean Ministry of Trade and Industry in an interview with the AP.
“Smart clothes” is a fabric with electronic devices integrated into it, imperceptibly interwoven with wires and masked batteries. Fabric with embedded electronics is always suitable for washing. The wires are securely insulated, and the electronic components are either insulated, or they can be detached.
In such clothes it is convenient to introduce a mobile phone or the same MP3 player, so that the device control and listening to music will be much more comfortable. Many experts believe that such clothes have a great future, because even now the popularity of MP3 players is breaking all records. The fact is that modern devices are not well adapted for wearing. It is not clear how to wear the player: whether on the neck, or on the belt, or in the inner pocket of the jacket or somewhere else. Anywhere it looks inorganic. Smart clothes should solve the problem.
Since 2004, South Korea has been actively developing in this area with the participation of research institutes, universities and commercial conglomerates, as well as with the support of the Korean government. According to Korean government experts, the global market for smart clothes could reach $ 7 billion in 2014, and South Korea wants to control more than 20% of this market.
