It's time to get rid of Caps Lock forever, says Peter Hintjens, manager of iMatix . He launched an active campaign on the Internet - Capsoff - with the goal of ridding the world of the screaming key.
The participants of the capsoff movement intend to convince developers and manufacturers to “reshape” the keyboard a little and, most importantly, to exclude Caps Lock from its composition as a rudiment or a misunderstanding. Promoting the idea, the founder of the movement writes angry posts on his blog and begins thematic discussions in Google Groups. In his opinion, Caps Lock is simply disgusting. “A huge unnecessary key is located next to CTRL and Shift - what is it doing there? It’s better to lengthen the gap, ”is approximately the message of Peter.
In addition, his indignation causes a way to abuse the key users, novices. Typing their texts in capital letters, they demonstrate every possible lack of taste and knowledge of etiquette. “Stop yelling” - this is one of the slogans of the caps-off movement.

“I don’t see what the problem is,” Joel East, a technical designer at Ikey, told Wired magazine. “The key is there, but using it or not is a matter of personal choice.” The company has been producing input devices since 1989, and has never faced customer complaints about the existence and location of the Caps Lock key. According to Ikey experts, traffic participants should concentrate on promoting Internet etiquette - there would be more benefit. "But if you think that the key still poisons your life - just take a penknife and pick this curse out of the keyboard."
