Songsterr. Monetization

Friends and colleagues! Start-up Songsterr.com (tablature that you can listen to) is developing and, while America is discussing how to monetize Twitter, we propose to collectively discuss the monetization of Songsterr.

We already have several monetization schemes that we would like to check. We highly appreciate the opinion of the habro-community, and before introducing these schemes, we are interested to hear your opinion. For us it is also important how this or that way of monetization will affect the attitude to the service.

1. Classic. Google Adsense. Already installed: text and image ads on all pages change in rotation, except for a single song page.

Results for 5 days:

• text banners: 26,297 hits, 145 clicks, CTR 0.55%, earnings $ 10.23
• graphic banners: 25477 hits, 94 clicks, CTR 0.37%, earnings $ 6.35

The way to monetize is clearly ineffective. There were no special illusions about him, they tried out of interest.

In general, advertising is not very interesting, because:

• advertising has virtually no effect on the permanent audience of the site and works well for random visitors, especially those who come from search engines;
• Earnings on advertising is greater, the more users leave the site by clicking on an advertisement.

2. Dividing the catalog into paid and free songs. Model purchase specific songs. For paid songs, the first 30 seconds are available, after which it is proposed to buy access to the full version of the tab. Estimated price - about $ 1-2 per tab.

Expansion of the model: each user can upload his own tab, which after approval by the moderator becomes paid. The user receives a percentage of the purchases of this tab.

3. Subscription model. For a certain amount, the user gets access to all paid songs in the catalog for a month. Catalog extension as an added bonus.

4. Similarly 3, but not a set of songs, but a functional is limited. For example, additional slowdown speeds and the possibility of looping an arbitrary passage become paid.
