Without a special pump in Munich, a pilot project is launched with many participants on “interception” car sharing in the busiest logistic points with (potentially) autonomous electric vehicles and tracking of free parking spaces / admission of only authorized participants to these places - and sending relevant information “in real time” on apps on smartphones and in participating sharing cars.
Plus - the distribution of electric bikes at these points.
Plus, the distribution points of UPS service packages at these locations.
')
The participants and partners of the project are very serious there:
- Several departments of the city hall of Munich
- BMW concern itself
- His car-sharing "daughter" DriveNow
- Siemens Mobility
- Munich City Carrier MVG
- German Institute of Urban Studies
- Technical University of Dresden
- University of Munich Bundeswehr
- UPS courier service
and some others with the active support of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Environment and Nuclear Safety.
In the technical circle, of course, there is a diverse palette of opinions about the objectives and necessity of the project. But, as you can see, including from a recent article
on the Platooning system , the Bavarian government is purposefully experimenting with new forms of logistic solutions, various research in the field of urban planning and testing of new transport technologies.
