Welcome to the JETHACK hackathon

Friends, we invite everyone to the JETHACK hackath, which will be held on October 20-21. It will be necessary to solve the problem according to the ratio of the point cloud of the specified 3D model, so that the output will be a program that allows you to search for discrepancies between the architectural plan and the finished object.

To participate in the hackathon, you need to assemble a team of 2-4 people. If you think that you can solve the problem yourself, you can register without a command ... There are no restrictions on programming languages! We'll be coding the whole weekend: let's start on Saturday, and finish on Sunday evening (if you wish, you can stay overnight). Tea, coffee, cookies, pizza and ottomans / sofas are attached :).

What do you need to solve problems?

• Refresh school math.
• Have basic skills in working with 3D models (download from file and triangulate).
• To be able to visualize the results (OpenGL, WebGL, Vulkan, DirectX).
• To be able to quickly process a large number of measurements (tens of million points).

Evaluation of results

Basic criteria:

• Your program should work :) - we should get the result on our input data and your laptops.
• The program should work quickly : the faster, the better.
• Looking for a result viewer: a separate model, a separate point cloud, a general view of both.

Additional criteria:

• It is desirable that the program is able to adjust the alignment parameters online.
• It will be good if the program will not slow down in the viewing mode (tens and hundreds of million points!).
• It is quite wonderful if the program can separately show polygons and points that are more separated from each other than a specified distance.

Please note : after the hackathon, we can use your work (with attribution) in one of our company's projects - and the winners will be able to participate in it! Therefore, the source code must be available under the MIT license.
