Panasonic has finally set prices for its much-anticipated product in the Lumix line: the DMC-G1 , a digital camera made to the standard " micro 4: 3 ". On the shelves of this camera should appear around mid-November at a price of $ 800 apiece. Baby weight: 385 grams, and the thickness is only 20 millimeters. Inside the compact package, Panasonic was able to pack a 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor. Since the camera is smaller, it lacks an optical viewfinder. Instead, a Live View digital viewfinder is used with a resolution of 1440000 pixels.

Well, the first lens, made in the same micro 4: 3 format, will be a Lumix G Vario 45-200mm / F4.0-5.6 / MEGA OIS; Buy which will be possible for a considerable $ 350. Whale model: LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH / MEGA OIS

Perhaps the most interesting and intriguing point is that in the Lumix DMC-G1 model, but already updated, there will be the ability to record and HD-video. The upgrade is planned for 2009, so I think that many amateur photographers will prefer to wait in order to catch two birds with one stone “one shot”.

PS A bit surprised by holivar in the comments, there are still a lot of amateurs on Habré (which is good news). The horizon in the first photo is not overwhelmed? What about white balance?
