Be careful with Adobe Flash Player 10!

Yesterday I updated Adobe Flash Player to version 10 in Fedora 9. Well, it was updated and updated, I did not attach much importance to this. Flash video players worked, I was just reviewing Arshavin's yesterday's goal on YouTube :)

And today I find that in the admin CMS Joomla on one of the sites, in the media manager (if anyone doesn’t know, this is the Jumlov interface for uploading files to the server), the “Files for viewing / Browse” button doesn’t work, with which you can choose files for aplod. Just does not respond to pressing. Moreover, I didn’t even immediately remember that flash is used for this interface, so I first started watching errors on the server, etc. And then it dawned on me that the new player from Adobe was to blame.

I went to google, but I did not find any descriptions of similar problems, much less their solutions. What to do? It was decided to downgrade the player to version 9. And this, too, was not easy. First I had to look for the file with the distribution kit. I managed to find this link here:
fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
Note that it is useless to install it. Just take libflashplayer.so from the archive and overwrite the installed version 10 file with it. In Fedor, it is located in the / usr / lib / flash-plugin directory
')
Well, everything works again ...
Of course, if you watch only video with flash, this advice may not be useful.

UPDATE: forgot to say that we are talking about Firefox 3 and Opera 9.60 browsers
UPDATE2: it turned out that this feature does not work under Windows either, so Joomla developers should bear this in mind
UPDATE3: and not only to developers on Joomla, it turns out just a lot of everything does not work, including some features of vkontakte.ru, so only Adobe can solve the problem, if he wants, of course :)
