Ubuntu license for Ukrainian (and not only) legislation

Recently, more and more often I hear stories about the active struggle with unlicensed software, confiscating hardware, issuing subpoenas.
Just yesterday, in an office building where our small firm is located, people in uniform were knocked on one of those small firms, they found a burning Windu with all the consequences.

Naturally, we were worried about our own security. We currently have Ubuntu 8.04 LTS installed on all desktops, several people come with laptops, where there is a license and not very soft.

According to unverified data, people in uniform require a license for software, even if it is free. In the light of these events, I ask for advice and an answer to a few questions from habraluy, faced with similar situations. Please add a comment to your commentary on which country you are talking about. Personally, I am interested in Ukraine. Also, it would be nice to see a few life examples and comments habralyudy with legal experience

Thanks in advance to all who answered. I assume that this question is of concern not only to me.

UPD 09/30/2010: A representative from UALinux contacted me today and said that there is a solution for Russia and Ukraine. This is facilitated by obtaining 4 Ubuntu partner statuses: a partner in providing support services for workstations and servers running Ubuntu Linux, a software partner, the official distributor of Ubuntu Linux in Ukraine, and passing UALinux product certification. Ie, as I understand it, you can get the necessary papers from them.
