The 26-year-old Canadian, Kyle MacDonald, is able to communicate with people. He does it especially well on the Internet. Once on his blog, Kyle traded a red clip for real estate. Now he decided to go ahead and become truly famous.
In the case of MacDonald, getting fame is just a matter of technology, because the world has already shook it. According to
The Sydney Morning Herald , a Canadian will write a book about the history of his exchange by 2007, the rights to the screen version of which have already been purchased by Spielberg’s
DreamWorks film company. In the general account of the former owner of the paper clip, the proposals of 40 book publishers and 50 film companies were poured in — Hollywood loves juicy stories. It is already known that the book will be released immediately in four languages: English, Italian, Japanese and Dutch.
The idea of making an exchange was dictated by an almost scientific interest: Kyle decided to test how useful the communication on the Web could be. The project, which at the end of its implementation can be called "Get a house with three bedrooms in the town of Kipling," was started with the exchange in the personal blog of the paper clip on the ballpoint pen-fish.

Next in the one-year exchange chain followed: a doorknob, a camp stove, an electric generator, a snowmobile, a tour package, an old minivan, a contract with a music studio, a year of free living in a house in Phoenix, one evening of communication with musician Alice Cooper, a role in Hollywood the film and finally the house in the Canadian city of Kipling.
The successive links in the chain are unequal, since most of the intermediary transactions MacDonald “cranked” with people he personally knew during many trips around Canada and the USA. That is, the success of the company was largely determined by the personal charm and good communication skills of the resourceful Canadian.
It seems unexpected that it was the Kipling authorities who noticed these qualities by making a deal with MacDonald. The city administration hopes to attract tourists and now it plans to open the monument - the largest paper clip in the world. Moreover, according to the city newspaper, the image of the clip is supposed to be placed in the emblem of the city.
