The sun is now experiencing the maximum decline in its activity in the 11-year cycle. However, scientists
note that the activity on the Sun is not just low, but abnormally low. For more than 200 days, not a single spot has formed on our star. The force of the solar wind has decreased to absolutely minimum values for the whole time of measurements (for the last half century). Scientists can not yet explain what the consequences of this anomaly can be and how serious they can be (it is clear only that the Northern Lights will not be so bright), but continue to monitor the parameters of solar activity using a network of terrestrial telescopes and orbital satellites.
The animation below captures the six-day cycle of normal activity of the Sun, from June 27, 2005. Now nothing like this is observed.

Another video is also not directly related to the topic, it just captures a unique phenomenon: the collision of a comet and a solar hurricane (that is, a coronary ejection from the surface of the Sun). Taken on April 4, 2007.
