I lacked the ability to fully read the special literature in PDF. If we talk about readers, this is an insufficient page size and black and white text (code samples must be in color). On the desktop is also not an option. It is clear that the material is much more better absorbed lying on the couch. Need a tablet with the largest screen possible.
I have long licked at the top Samsung Note Pro - the desired 12 inches in QHD and the stylus bonus. I checked the flea market - very cheaply, compared to the initial price. Why? Well, in some cases, the battery no longer holds a charge (new from China - $ 25). But for the most part, because the update of the official firmware stopped a couple of years ago on version 5.0.2, and it is terribly slow. It is clear that the device is outdated, and it is necessary to somehow shove someone in the absence of demand.
And no! After a simple procedure, the patient is alive and well. And everything flies. I want to share my experience, because the instructions on w3bsit3-dns.com and XDA-Developers are fragmented and robbed me of the day off.
- Dug out a computer with Windows.
- Put the Samsung Android USB Driver for Windows.
- Disconnected Samsung Kies and antivirus.
- Put the utility Odin3 1.85.
- I downloaded the TWRP firmware file for v1awifi (SM-P900) / v1a3gxx (SM-901) / viennaltexx (SM-905).
- I downloaded the firmware LineageOS (choose the same for the model, I have v1awifi ) and put it on an external SD-media in the tablet.
- I downloaded the OpenGApps application (ARM platform, Android 7.1) and also placed it on an external SD media in the tablet.
- Opened the Odin3 utility "as an administrator", pressed the PDA button and selected the TWRP firmware file, turned off the tick on "Auto Reboot" and left the tick off on "F. Reset Time".
- I connected the tablet with a standard USB3 Micro-B cable.
- Turned on the power of the tablet with the volume-minus button pressed until the Samsung Note Pro screensaver appears; further answered the request with the volume-plus button, that I want to switch to the "Downloading ..." mode.
- I pressed the Start button in the Odin3 utility, the firmware was completed in a couple of seconds.
- Holding down the volume-plus button on the tablet along with the power button, I waited until the tablet turned off and on again; I released the buttons only after the appearance of the Samsung Note Pro screensaver - thus the TWRP application is loaded.
- Inside, TWRP changed the language to Russian and performed a couple of times a backup to an external SD media
- Inside, TWRP performed a complete cleaning of the tablet and performed a recovery from the backup, as in the joke about a peasant falling from a skyscraper: - as long as everything goes fine.
- Inside TWRP tried to install LineageOS firmware - a bummer. You need to update the bootloader via Odin3, the instruction is here .
- Inside, TWRP has returned to installing the LineageOS firmware - and it is installed and updated (the data and settings are saved, checked).
- Inside, TWRP installed the OpenGApps firmware - got access to the Google Play Market.
I also took a grief, LineageOS does not see channel 13 on WiFi - adjusted the settings in the router.
For some reason, Youtube does not issue a resolution higher than FHD, although on board QHD.
Please advise a pdf reader. Went through a lot, but not yet found the perfect one.
