If you need to measure the speed of connection to the Internet, then most likely you will open speedtest.net. Speedtest allows you to create your own measurement nodes that other users can use, for example, it will be very important for Internet providers (the main Speedtest server will be placed after the device, which cuts speed to subscribers).
Under the cut a detailed installation manual.

Speedtest supports many operating systems:
- Windows Server (2008, or 2012 with IIS 6, 7, 7.5, or 8)
- Linux (2.6.18 kernel or newer)
- Mac OS X (built on 10.8, previous versions may be but not fully supported)
- FreeBSD (kernel 7.3 or newer)
I used Ubuntu 18.04.
So let's go in order. First of all, you need to download the application for
HTTP Legacy Fallback and the
main server for Speedtest to work.
A web server is required for HTTP Legacy Fallback, I used apache + php. The content of
http_legacy_fallback.zip is unpacked in
/ var / www / html .
From my OoklaServer.tgz archive, in my case, the
OoklaServer-linux64 directory was needed. We unpack it in a place where you have third-party programs, for example,
/ opt / speedtest .
Next you need to start OoklaServer and make it start at system startup.
Check that it worked. It is necessary to open the browser http: // <your ip>: 8080
If everything is good, then this message will appear:

Now check out the HTTP Legacy Fallback. Open http: // <your ip> /speedtest/upload.php
There should be about this
size=500
After that, the node must be registered in Speedtest. To do this, you need to register at
https://account.ookla.com/ and go to the “Speedtest Servers” section. After that, you can click "Add Server", a window opens with a profile:

It is necessary to fill in the questionnaire and wait until the server appears in the general list.
About a day from the subscribers of our network, he already began to automatically be selected at the entrance to speedtest.net.
I will be glad to answer your questions in the comments.
