UK takes fingerprints from bar visitors

In the UK, they decided to take fingerprints from visitors to pubs and clubs in all more or less large cities. In one of the cities they tested a new system for 8 months and found a 48% drop in the number of alcohol-related crimes. The public at Slashdot doubts where 48% could have come from , but the local authorities allegedly are determined. It seems they are crazy.
