Roskomnadzor’s ultimatum expired on the evening of August 30, that is, three days from the date of sending the notice to Yandex. After that, access to the video service could be blocked on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The company stressed that Yandex cannot separate controversial content from legal content , therefore, links to resources where content is placed by the copyright holder may be among the removed: “As a result, users lost the ability to find legal content on Yandex,” and resources Gazprom Media, ”quite possibly, lost part of the traffic,” the company noted.
