One million, two million ...

According to the Choose Opera portal , the very next day after the release of Opera 9.6, the number of browser downloads from Opera Software’s servers reached one million ( I can say secretly that in a couple of hours after the publication of my message there will be two million ). This figure, frankly, is very relative. And that's why.

For example, if you compare it with some Skype, the number of users of which has long been in the tens of millions, then such a result would be a complete failure. However, if you look into the history of the Opera browser itself, you can recall that after the final release of the first version of the ninth series browser in 2006, it took four days to reach one million downloads. Perhaps you can already bet on how long it will take to take a million downloads a year that way in 2010, only the period will be calculated in hours. ;)

In general, what else can I say - a great result. Optimistic. And, by the way, there is another indicator that the Norwegians decided to provide to the general public: since the release date of Opera 9.5 in June of this year, the weekly number of browser users has grown by 25%! After these figures, the statements of some “would-be analysts”, who thoughtfully speculate about the decline of Opera’s popularity, look quite ridiculous. The answer is like a joke: do not wait! ;)
