Charity event “Give wings to children”

Drones today firmly entered our lives. Video bloggers and TV presenters take pictures on them, use them to monitor animals in hard-to-reach places, and even plan to use them in food delivery (I think everyone remembers the Amazon initiative).

However, as in any sphere, with the development inevitably comes the difficulty of studying all the necessary disciplines, the time for diving and acquiring the necessary skills increases.
Not everyone knows, but since 2017, the profession of the drone operator officially exists in Russia. And there are classes in the School of Drones at MAI. The guys - the participants and winners of many competitions in drone, great podnatorevshie in their field, conduct lessons on the basics of piloting micro-drones, racing kopter, etc.

And in any case there is a place of charity. On July 26, the third international parachute festival HANDI FLY International Challenge 2018 started at the Krutitsy airfield in the Shilovsky region of the Ryazan region. In the framework of the “Give Wings for Children” event, children with disabilities from the local home for the disabled were invited to attend the training.

They deployed a special tent, where everyone could try himself as a pilot and learn how to control the drone from the first person thanks to cameras installed on manned units and broadcast images on glasses with the FPV view (first-person-view). Children were shown how to pilot quadrocopters. They told about what are the drones, how they are arranged. Of course, the mandatory part included the practice of flying on drones.

As a result of such activities fine motor skills in children develop well. If we talk about the program, the course involves the study of the fundamentals of aerodynamics of quadcopters, the basic principles of radio electronics, the assembly of aircraft, their programming and further piloting.

It should be noted that such flights make it possible to feel completely free and not constrained, positively affect the quality of life. In addition, it is also important that the modern profession of the future “UAV operator” is accessible to people with disabilities, which makes it possible to find interesting and in-demand jobs. ⠀

Everyone loved it.

The action was held thanks to the School of drones at the MAI with the support of the government of the Ryazan region and the governor Nikolai Lyubimov.
