Saga of high technologies in Russian public education

Recently my mother called me (she is a teacher in a regular secondary school) and started crying to explain that again she cannot fill out a control report on algebra for 8th grade. What I saw on her computer, upon arrival, so shocked me that I could not resist writing a malicious post about our education.

All this is called the StatGrad Educational Statistics Processing System . You can read more in black and lilac on the official website .

In short, to send data on a test, the teacher should do the following:

1. Enter the site and enter the login and password (which is constantly changing)
2. Download the .xls file to your computer (for some reason it is saved in a poppy with a double .xls.xla extension)
3. Score all students and grades for k / p (grading system is a separate topic)
4. Enter into the special field the additional “login in the StatGrad system”
5. Export data to .csv format
6. Go to another page StatGrad-a. Enter login / password again and send .csv file

Actual information

Reports on checklists are accepted from 8-00 on Fridays, September 26 to 22-00, on Monday, September 29.

Forms of the report on the test work on algebra for 8th grade:
File MS Excel 600 Kb (For students according to the textbook by Yu.N. Makarychev or textbook by AG Mordkovich.)
File MS Excel 600 Kb (For students according to the textbook by Sh.A. Alimov.)

On September 15, 2008, access passwords to the StatGrad system were changed.
As a new access password, you should use the “backup” password from the package received by the educational institution in February 2008 (or later on an individual basis).

Be sure to include a login and attach the file in question, specify the time of sending and confirmation code.

The list of students is entered manually every time. The authors also propose to “copy the prepared list into groups of cells”

Typing StatGrad in the search engine on the first lines of the charts you can find great reviews about the system. For example:

PS I do not urge to rush right away to break StatGrad’s website, which has no protection at all. I think it is better to sit back and watch the poor teachers bring to despair.

Ministry of Education! Come to your senses, those who are currently studying in school are the future of our country. Make the teachers a normal system!
