Digital Lunches at Inamo London

Dear London restaurant and bar Inamo is going to spice up the pleasure of excellent cuisine with a digital peppercorn: Microsoft Surface touch-panels installed on worktops. Color interactive menus, aesthetic patterns, smack of innovation - all this, according to Inamo managers, should appeal to the fastidious English public.

When viewing the menu items, you can even look at the dish as if it were lying on a plate in front of you (only slightly more than two-dimensional). In addition to being used as an “interactive menu” of the restaurant, the panel will also allow to use third-party services (like ordering a taxi) and choose one of seven options for virtual table setting, without even touching the touch panel.

Meanwhile, Microsoft, after succumbing to the fashionable trend of one small multitouch device, is going to release an SDK for Surface this month. This will happen at the PDC (and maybe it will not happen - they promise a package in Redmond since April). The developers are promised an image-based object recognition system, something called ScatterView and a detailed scheme for the development of multitouch technologies in Windows 7.
