We take out CSS in post-loading

After a comparative note on CSS Sprites and data: URL, all my thoughts were directed to solving the main problem:

In the general case [when using data: URL], the page load will not be accelerated, but may even slow down, because background images (included via data: URL) will be loaded into one stream, and not several with normal use of sprites. If there are a lot of background pictures (a few dozen Kb), then this will be significant.
