All on the "Electronic Commerce 2008"!

Ecommerce-2008 Conference Logo This week, on October 9 and 10, Moscow will host the Electronic Commerce 2008 conference, which will bring together Russian e-commerce experts for the fourth time. But to go there, despite my lively headline, of course, not everyone needs it. Despite the certain popularity of the topics announced for discussion with the participants, every year it becomes more and more obvious that e-commerce in our country acquires the identity and outlines of a full-fledged sector of the economy. And in order to work in it, one enthusiasm is no longer enough: the market has its own legal base, it comes a serious “offline” capital, and the need for new non-standard work methods becomes topic number 1.

Oleg Prusakov, head of the Consumer Protection Board of Rospotrebnadzor, is not the first time becoming the “highlight” of the event, again acting as the “human face” of the most active regulatory organization. And Konstantin Yakunin, chief in the quality of work at the Post of Russia, will make a report, apparently designed to dispel at least a little the idea that working with this structure looks like a natural disaster.

The round table on payment systems, in the context of the emerging legal adjustments in this area, stands out in general. After all, there is probably no such motley collection of Internet currencies like ours anywhere in the world. But world experience says that it is unlikely that they all will be able to get along without having to run over niches.

More and more are those who have something to say. And more and more, those who understand that sharing their exclusive knowledge in the long run can be useful. This year, a lot of reports are devoted to quite mundane things: an analysis of the basic mistakes in strategy, technical and organizational subtleties, which today are not necessarily tricky to make bumps. For example, the general director of Allsoft.ru Irina Kuznetsova will talk about the problems of growth of a small online store, and Dmitry Dvoretsky from Euroset will tell about the optimization of his business processes.

It will be enough statistics and results for the year: they will tell both people from business and professional analysts, whose research in itself costs a lot of money.

Among the turbulent flow of reports and round tables (this year they are going to three parallel branches for the first time) there will be time to rest. Apart from coffee breaks and lunches, you can listen to traditional beautifully arranged discourses on high from representatives of SUP (this time they will be Edward Shenderovich, and “high” will be the “difficulty of investing in e-commerce”) and see for sure the fiery presentation about viral marketing (Maria Ivanova, of course, “KSAN”).

In general, and I insist on my optimism, it will be interesting. If you are sure that online sales are yours, then you have to go.
