I am working on a regional social network. At the moment, this is a regular blog hosting service that runs on a multiplayer version of WordPress MU . The system is, of course, flexible, extensible, and very convenient for me as a non-programmer, but as a person who knows WordPress very well.
But…
WordPress MU is a very capricious thing and it is simply impossible to make it work correctly for a long period of time. And besides, the functionality is in fact without deep knowledge of php and mysql very conditional, because the plug-ins are a sea to the regular version, but for multiplayer they need to be adapted, with which I have quite understandable difficulties.

In general, even blogs that can be built on WordPress MU do not suit me, the only thing is the possibility of beautiful URLs such as name.domain.ru is a very significant plus.
In search of a more functional and stable CMS for the urban social network (in particular for blog hosting), several engines have drawn particular attention. The thing is interesting, but so far it only offers blogs, that for regions there is no ice - we still need all sorts of photo galleries, forums and other atavisms.
