Internet advertising is less annoying

"Habrahabr" has already mentioned that with the new Law "On Advertising" that came into effect on July 1, 2006, experts suggest the redistribution of advertising budgets: they will lose from TV advertising in favor of the rest. ROMIR also emphasizes this, stating that part of the advertisers' money will go online. In this regard, researchers ask questions: “How loyal are network residents to advertising? Will the increase in online advertising be effective? ”

ROMIR Monitoring's June online omnibus covered 1414 respondents aged 18+. These are active Internet users who visit the Network several times a week. 97% of respondents in this group use the Internet for more than a year, they can be called “advanced”, therefore, as the researchers report, they were asked to determine the annual growth of advertising on the Web at the level of sensations.

According to 42% of respondents, advertising on the Internet has become "much more." 26% said that this year it is only “slightly more” than in the past. 18% say that advertising remains "the same." And only 1% of respondents considered that advertising in 2006 was “slightly less”.

Irritation of Internet advertising - as, indeed, its other forms - causes 30% of respondents. At the same time, a neutral attitude towards her was witnessed by a larger number of people - 40% of respondents. It should be noted that the proportion of neutral related to online advertising is slightly higher among women (45%) than among men (35%); the majority of these respondents are middle-aged people aged 35-44 .

2% of respondents can not get rid of irritation to advertising, but note that in relation to Internet advertising, their feelings are less strong. 8% reported that they like Internet advertising more than the rest. Internet users of 18-24 years old, as well as respondents with high incomes, spoke a little more often than the average for the sample.
In general, the results of ROMIR indicate that the Russian Internet audience is now the most loyal to advertising. “About 80% of Internet users are covered by online advertising, half of them consider it useful, almost half of users are positive or neutral to advertising on the Internet. Thus, advertisers can turn to online advertising of goods or services whose target audience matches a portrait of a typical Internet user, it may even be more effective than using other advertising media, ”experts of the holding summarize.
