American scientists, by analyzing uncomplicated statistics, concluded that the average IT worker takes home about 19,000 items of computer components over a 10-year period of work. Punishment for such a misdemeanor: one or two years ’imprisonment plus a fine that is adequate to the cost price of the vehicle.

That is the fate awaiting Victor Papagno (Victor Papagno) - a former employee of the US Naval Laboratory. A 40-year-old specialist who worked for the government from 1997 to 2007 took from his workplace an astounding amount of equipment and components: more than 100 personal computers (system unit + monitor). Moreover, most of the iron was in working condition, at home Victor collected computers and used them for his own purposes.

Obviously, the "random attacker" did not expect to receive any money from the sale of computers, but the authorities are now talking about $ 120,000 of damage to the government.
