New Google Blog Search

Google has released a new version of its blog search. The main innovations are the display on the main page of the most interesting and discussed in the blogosphere records and the grouping of topics into 11 categories. In the new release, Google has fastened to the search also a graph showing the dynamics of the appearance of publications on a particular topic.

Despite all this, there are those that are still unhappy with Google's blog search. So, many people compare it with the Techmeme aggregator (indeed, there are certain similarities). But Google Blog Search has much broader coverage, which, in my opinion, adds “points” to it in this comparison.

Despite all sorts of new features, the popular Google Operating System blog noted a number of flaws in Google Blog Search. This is the inability to identify plagiarism, spam and comments. It is also not possible to subscribe to the RSS feed for the main news. A new clustering (the same, in 11 categories), does not work when displaying search results.
