New bans. Now in kentucky

The other day on the site www.All-Games.ru there was a very interesting news. It says that Steve Bescher, the governor of Kentucky, "is actively trying to establish control over the domain names of some of the largest online poker rooms in the world, in particular, Bodog, Full Tilt Poker, DoylesRoom and PokerStars."

This idea is confirmed by the fact that the governor issued a decree in which he allowed residents of the state to participate only in online lotteries and running sweepstakes provided by gaming operators of Kentucky. However, he forbade playing poker on all the projects listed above. Frankly, it is not entirely clear how this ruling may contribute to the "privatization of domains." Rather, it is about limiting the freedoms of residents.

By the way, the American Poker Players Association (quite an influential organization with more than a million people) has already expressed dissatisfaction with this initiative. And, quite possibly, the case will go to court, in which the governor will have a hard time. After all, there are no laws prohibiting residents of Kentucky from gambling on the Internet. And his only argument is that "online poker rooms take money from the Kentucky gambling infrastructure." Nevertheless, this resolution is a rather dangerous precedent. In fact, it is a very rude interference of the authorities in the Internet business. Moreover, the intervention is illegal, the sole purpose of which is to make a profit.
