The first competition in underwater robotics for students of grades 1-4

The Center for the Development of Robotics, with the support of the Innovation Promotion Foundation, announces the competition “Immersion in Underwater Robotics” for students in grades 1-4 (for the 2018-2019 academic year). The competition consists of three stages: two part-time and one full-time. According to the results of the correspondence stages, the best 20 teams will receive 20 sets of underwater robotics, from which the guys will be able to assemble a robot to participate in the in-person stage, the final, which will be held on May 10-11, 2019 in Vladivostok.

To participate in the first stage, it’s enough to create a team of 2-3 people, each team member write an essay (200-500 words) on the topic “Why I want to do underwater robotics” and send individual applications until September 30, 2018 inclusive. All teams whose participants will send an essay of the required volume automatically pass to the second stage.

At the second stage, teams will need to complete a research task, a description of which will be posted on the competition page on October 1, 2018. The research results will need to be sent to the organizing committee by December 31, 2018.

Winners of the second stage will be announced on January 10, 2019. The top 20 teams will receive a set of underwater robotics ElementaryROV. Teams must assemble a working underwater vehicle from a set and take part in the All-Russian underwater robotics competitions (category Scout), which will be held on May 10-11, 2019 in Vladivostok.
