Literature in the information war

On the evening of September 25, Yandex was unavailable for approximately an hour.

This entailed a number of consequences for the Rambler (+ 160 thousand), Google (+ 140-150 thousand) and in general the Runet sites (- 800 thousand) sucking Yandex-tit, but I wanted to draw attention to this:

A certain person, under the pseudonym Alena, began to lead a column of supposedly " news from the battlefield " on the forum of optimizers, painting the mass executions of programmers in the basement of a house on Samokatnaya.
')
Presumably, the purpose of this news was to draw attention to his person, but for us it is not so important. It is important that during the day this fake report was reprinted almost 30 times only in the blogs that Yandex finds. Not counting the others, including Habr .

I personally found out about it on one closed professional mailing list, where this text was quoted as a documentary source.

This is exactly the case when the literary experience begins to coincide with the experience of reality. And this example shows that with skillful management, such a literary move can have quite a real impact. For example, lead to a fall in stocks as a result of panic .

Why do I insist that such an exhaust should be attributed to literature, and not to disinformation? It is difficult to draw a clear boundary. If Alena had written about the fact that there was no malfunction on Yandex, it would have been a “disinformation”. Or if, when everything was repaired, she would argue that the server is lying again - that would also be “disinformation”. Her "news from the field" - this is speculation, which was based on real, all the obvious facts. She simply “kept silence” that this was just her own speculation, fantasies. Now, if she attributed these inventions to some real person, an employee of the company, then this would also be “disinformation”. But in this case, there was only fanfic based on real events. And it became especially noticeable when Roem.ru intercepted the baton, publishing its “version” of the incident, with the capture group, the Kremlin, Valuev and the checkpoints in the corridors.
