Today, a small collapse has happened with the production servers of Weborama. Because of the regular power off (several times a day) in our rack at the hoster (we will not poke a finger), the disks from the stripes of two key servers flew out. We changed the machine, stand and at the same time put hardy more enduringly. Since I had to work with three servers at the same time, taking into account the fact that two of them had to lift the operating system from scratch, the keyboard and monitor jumped from one server to another (yes, yes, we still don’t have KVM).
Our admin is constantly connected to different servers and entered the same commands from the keyboard. And then I thought that it would be cool to keep the history of commands somewhere globally. At first it occurred to store on the Internet, but I changed my mind, because often such things (the initial configuration of servers) are done just when they are not available. And then it dawned on me. The keyboard could have some memory in which it could store the history of typed commands. This would greatly speed up the work of the admin. They could be displayed on a special display made by eInk technology, then the principle could be embedded in rubber, folding keyboards that are convenient to carry in your pocket.
If you go further, it would be possible to introduce some macros for routine procedures, microscripting, etc. In general, there is a place where fantasies unfold.
And what is your opinion, dear readers?
