Let there be light! (with)

In our world, there is still no area where Scientific and Technical Progress would have looked. Auto milkmaids-drinkers, robots, vacuum cleaners and automatic washing urinals fit tightly into our lives :) Moreover, such a necessary thing as an NTP light bulb is constantly being upgraded. So let's start in a row ...

Incandescent lamps

In fact, the long-living of our chandeliers and floor lamps, which is not long left to rape our eyes and electricity meters. This is due to low efficiency - 10-20 lumens per watt, a limited range of luminescence of tungsten filaments, which they try to correct with different spraying-fillings of the flask and a relatively short service life (although there are enough modern ones for a year). I hope that it makes no sense to talk about the principles of this dinosaur.

Luminous lamps

Gas-discharge, arc-discharge and TP. The main difference from the incandescent lamp is that the main luminous flux generates not the tungsten filament, but the glow of the internal environment under the action of breakdown. As a rule, the light thus requires filtering for the human eye, therefore all such lamps have an internal deposition that cuts off the unnecessary spectrum (for example, UV) and removes the radiation peaks that are unpleasant for the eye. High efficiency (40-50 lumens per watt) compared with incandescent bulbs and longer service life leads to the gradual replacement of these lamps in homes. The only obstacle why they did not oust the "ordinary light bulbs" is 10-20 times higher cost, which is caused by the complexity of the lamp itself and the scheme of its "inclusion" in the operating mode.

LED sources

Very economical sources of WEAK power up to 70 lumens per watt (although there are exceptions ). In fact, they have already completely replaced incandescent lamps from portable light sources. Modern LEDs are quite durable, but whimsical to the operating parameters of the current. Although luminosity and falls with a lifetime, but for flashlights it is not so important. These sources are still more expensive than fluorescent lamps of the same luminous intensity, since they are assemblies of several LEDs and rectifier circuits to prevent failure.

Microwave bit sources

These sources were developed as far back as 1992, but the high price at that time led to a low prevalence. The principle of operation of such a source is as follows: the microwave cavity inside a special flask, which does not allow microwave radiation out, causes the luminance of the sulfur-containing gas inside, and light is output from the bulb through the fiber. These lamps have many advantages:But alas, while they are used only in really powerful devices - more powerful than a kilowatt (imagine the luminous flux at 100 Lm / W), respectively, the lamp heats up to very high temperatures ... Although there are precedents , and we will soon see these lamps in our daily life.

PS Personally, I have already felt the benefit of "economical" lamps, after replacing all the lamps in the house with "economical" the electricity charge decreased exactly twice, which leads to a payback period of one such lamp in 0.5-1 months.
PPS Inaccuracies and errors are quite possible, I am open to criticism :)
