The first mobile phone to drive a car

Carmaker Nissan together with the companies NTT and Sharp released the world's first mobile phone , which can simultaneously work as a wireless remote control machine. The phone is compatible with the Intelligent Key system, the standard system in Nissan cars since 2002.

Intelligent Key is not just a key for signaling, but a whole intelligent system. The car can start the engine and open the doors automatically when the owner approaches (the mobile phone transmits the cryptosignal wirelessly). Similarly, if the driver leaves the cabin, the engine is muffled and the doors are also locked automatically.

Demonstration of a unique development will take place on September 30 at CEATEC Japan 2008, and such phones will appear on the market early next year.
