Not so long ago, Hasselblad
introduced its 50 megapixel
H3DII-50 camera. And, of course, the elite manufacturer of photo equipment is not going to stop at this. At the
Photokina 2008 trade show taking place in Europe, the company's CEO Christian Paulsen announced that the new Hasselblad H3DII-60 camera, “upgraded” to 60 MP, will be available in April 2009.
It will use a sensor measuring 36x48 millimeters (as well as the 50 MP model, by the way), which is almost twice the physical size of traditional sensors of professional cameras. In addition, Polsen added that “the camera uses about 94% of the sensor's coverage area, even in images of average quality. No other manufacturer has achieved the same indicators today. ”
The cost of the new camera will match its characteristics: $ 36,000 (H3DII-50 costs $ 29,000). And this is without taking into account the lenses. New lenses HCD 4.0-5.6 / 35-90mm Hasselblad, by the way, also announced.
