Google Books Search now on any site.

Google has released a set of APIs that allow you to embed the Google Book Search interface absolutely on any site. For example, it is appropriate on the library website or even a bookstore, because in an offline store, we also have the opportunity to pick up a book and look through it. Here, too, it is possible, although there is still a limit on scrolling: no more than 20% of the book’s content.

Together with the widget, a full-text search window is also being introduced across the entire content of the book, as well as additional “social” functionality — ratings and reviews from Google Books.

What a Google Books widget looks like on a third-party site - you can see it here (click on the “Google Preview” button).

At the moment, the Google Book Search interface has already been implemented on several not very large bookstores, but in the very near future Buy.com and other sites will be added to their list.

Google Book Search developers are calling for the system to be implemented on publishing house websites and on social networks for recommendations. There are already successful examples of both.
