Coordination Center teaches judges

On September 16, the Coordination Center of the national domain of the Internet (coordinator of the RU domain) organized a special lecture for judges. It took place in the Russian Academy of Justice at the Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Courts of the Russian Federation. More than 100 judges from all regions of the Russian Federation took part in the lecture.

The main topic of the lecture is an explanation of the specifics of the domain name registration system, a discussion of the Coordination Center-Registrar-Administrator relationship principles, analysis and explanation of terminology in this area. In addition, other important points were touched upon, in particular, the principles of resolving disputes around domains, the specifics of using evidence in cases related to the global network. It is worth noting that this is only the first lecture from the whole cycle of classes. Apparently, the Coordination Center for the national domain of the Internet has seriously taken up the training of judges.

Frankly speaking, such an initiative is good news. Today, courts are considering more and more cases involving domain names. And the judges, most of whom have little or no idea about the domain system, find it very difficult to make the right decision. As a result, judicial errors may arise (and arise), the correction of which costs people a lot of money and nerves. Let us hope that the Coordination Center will not stop and bring the process of education of judges to the end. In this case, you can count on improving the quality of judicial decisions.
