The geek is the most promising occupation for the next ten years.

American magazine Money has made a rating of the most promising professions for the coming years. Five of the six first places in this list were taken by computer specialties.

The rating is based on the analysis of which professions will be the most promising in the near future, namely, in 2006-2014 . This refers to which specialists will increase the demand in the US labor market.

Many thought that because of outsourcing, the profession of an IT specialist in America is becoming less and less attractive. In fact, the demand for skilled labor is growing every year. The market needs specialists of a different profile: software developers, system administrators, network security specialists and many others.

In the list of professions, the demand for which will grow at the fastest rate, the analyst in the field of networks and data transmission takes the first place. By 2014, the demand for professionals in this field will grow by 54.6%. The reason is clear: more and more companies are creating their own network infrastructure. Virtually every office in the United States will soon be one big hot spot, which implements a wide variety of network technologies, ranging from Wi-Fi and VoIP, to the good old Ethernet.

In the third and fourth places - application developers and engineers in the field of system software, the demand for which by 2014 will grow by 48.4% and 43%, respectively. The advantages of the programmer's specialty are that independent work is available here, for example, as a consultant. In addition, firms are now competing with each other for the best programmers, and therefore the best professionals can count on much better payment terms.

The fifth place is taken by network and computer administrators (an increase of 38.4%), the sixth is by database administrators (38.2%).

Thus, five of the six first positions in the list of the most promising occupations are occupied by computer specialties. Computer geeks in America are definitely not lost. At least until 2014
