Self-employed citizens will not be prohibited from traveling abroad

On May 4, the news was published on Geektimes that officials may be planning to ban self-employed citizens from going abroad. In any case, Valery Ryazansky, chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the Federation Council, said that officials need to pay close attention to those citizens who do not pay taxes.

“It may be determined that if people, receiving income, do not legalize their relationship with the state, then yes, they will receive emergency medical care, but, for example, they will not be able to go abroad. Thus, the state will remind citizens that they have accumulated unfulfilled social obligations, ” said Ryazansky. Now the situation has cleared up - there will be no restrictions on self-employed people, be it medical care or going abroad.

“The Council of the Federation discussed a bill being developed by senators concerning self-employed citizens (those who are engaged in their own business without employing employees and not paying taxes) ... As the meeting participants noted, the bill does not provide for any prohibitive measures against self-employed. In particular, no prohibitions are provided for the provision of medical services, pensions, travel abroad, etc., ”the Vedomosti report informs the press service of the Federation Council.

As far as it can be understood, the restrictions will not affect those citizens who have "debt obligations to the country, to citizens or to legal entities and this debt is fixed by the decision of the courts." The senator himself explained his words: “Well, I fantasized. But this may be a restriction of a transaction: for example, a person buys real estate abroad. Or an expensive car. And at this moment the tax can very accurately ask: did you pay the tax on the state? ”

According to information provided by the Chairman of the Council of Federation Committee on Budget and Financial Markets Sergey Ryabukhin, the category of self-employed Russians currently numbers from 15 to 22 million people.
