Roboze 3D Printer Review

What it is?

Roboze is a 3D printer company selling and selling. In the model range of the company are now two printers - Roboze One and Roboze One + 400.

Another Chinese printer?

Roboze is an Italian company that develops and manufactures its printers in Europe. The company's headquarters is located in Bari, a beautiful seaside town on the Adriatic coast.

What is the difference between Roboze One and Roboze One + 400?

Roboze one

Working area: 280220200 mm
Platform heating: up to 100 ° C
Extrusion temperature: up to 300 ° C
Resolution: 25 microns
Price: from 499,000 rubles, depending on options and printer modifications.

Roboze One - a personal printer with high printing accuracy. High accuracy and repeatability of movements is achieved due to the rejection of belt drives, which are not in the printer (all drives are gear-rack gears).

The printer's extruder maintains the temperature up to 300 degrees Celsius, the heating of the printing table - up to 100 degrees, which provides a large amount of materials used. Printing accuracy is 25 microns (0.025 mm), and the size of the print area is 280 x 220 x 200 mm.

Galvanized steel chassis, internal components in stainless steel 6082 and AISI 303.

The extruder is made entirely of stainless steel, which increases its lifespan by two and a half times.

Roboze One + 400

Working area: 200x200x200 mm
Platform heating: up to 150 ° C
Extrusion temperature: up to 400 ° C
Resolution: 50 microns
Price: from 2 880 000 rubles, depending on the options.

Roboze One + 400 - the industrial version of the Roboze One. Its main difference from the “younger brother” is the temperature of extruder operation increased to 400 degrees and up to 150 - the printing table, in this connection - the ability to print industrial materials with high viscosity, requiring high temperatures, and create working prototypes of products from them.

The model can be completed with two extruders, for printing with two different materials at the same time.

The main control is a 3.5 ”touch screen.

Accuracy of printing provides the same concept as in the younger model - untimely rack and gear transmission.

The resolution of the industrial printer, however, is two times less than that of its personal counterpart - only 50 microns. And the size of the print area is slightly smaller - 200x200x200 mm. But even with these characteristics, print quality does not disappoint.

What is printed?

Roboze printers print any synthetic material used for FDM printing, including especially abrasive and high-temperature extrusion. Further - materials regularly used for printing on Roboze.

Carbon PA

CARBON PA consists of polyamide with the addition of 20% carbon fibers. The material has a high modulus of tensile elasticity, low flammability, resistance to moisture, low specific weight and greater strength, which allows you to print from it parts to replace metal, reducing the weight of the final products.

The melting temperature of the material is 178 ° C, the pour point is 149, the nozzle temperature at printing is 260, the platforms are 85-98.

Both Roboze printers print with this material.

PEI

Polyetherimide is a functional technical polymer due to its physical and chemical properties, such as resistance to hydrolysis and acid solutions. Products made from it can be used in conditions of elevated temperatures and retain their mechanical properties, for example, during repeated autoclaving, which allows their use in the food and medical industry.

The working temperature of the nozzle when printing with this material is 400 degrees Celsius, the temperature of the table is 180 degrees.

Reprinted on the Roboze One + 400.

Peek

Polyetheretherketone (polyetherketone) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer with mechanical properties and chemical resistance in such a range of conditions that can be used in the food, aerospace, automotive, defense industries, electronics and semiconductors, oil and gas, nuclear and hydropower, as well as in the creation space technology, medical and cable products.

Melting point is 340 ° C, solidifies at 145.

Products from PEEK can be briefly used at 300 ° C, permanently in the range from -60 ° C to 240 ° C.

Reprinted on the Roboze One + 400.

ABS-ESD

ABS-ESD is an ABS-based material whose main feature is electrostatic safety. Products from this material do not accumulate a static charge on the surface and have a very high resistance, which makes it possible to use them in the electronics industry and laboratories.

It is made on the basis of ABS plastic, which is processed according to a certain technology and supplemented with special additives.

Glass transition occurs at 105 ° C. Can be used in both printers.

PMMA

PMMA is a clear polymethyl methacrylate filament, also known as plexiglass. Used in many areas, including the manufacture of optics and the medical industry.
The temperature of the print head is 260, the table is 100 ° C, the layer thickness is 0.2-0.1 mm. Reprinted on the Roboze One + 400.

Functional

Functional is a durable Nylon 12 printed filament. It is recommended for printing components that are exposed to increased stress and wear. Printing head heating - 250 ° C, platforms - 98 ° C. Can be used in both printers.

Strong

Strong is another ABS-based plastic, has improved mechanical properties and is certified after practical strength tests. Natural color - black, with the addition of dye - any. The nozzle temperature is 250 ° C, the platforms are 85-90 ° C. Can be used in both printers.

Flex

Flex is a flexible synthetic material based on thermoplastic polyurethane. It has high resistance to abrasion, wear and tear. It is mainly used in cases when it is necessary to make a soft part - seals, gaskets, decorative items. Material heating during printing is 240 ° C, platforms - 66 ° C. Can be used in both printers.

Ultra

The material created for printing objects with precisely specified sizes. It consists of PLA and other additives that define its properties. It is used for printing prototypes and small series of finished products in cases where it is necessary to precisely follow the form. Material heating during printing is 220 ° C, platforms - 60 ° C. Can be used in both printers.

PC

Polycarbonate is a well-known material that does not need to be presented. High resistance to temperature and shock loads made it very popular in the industry long before the advent of 3D printing. Nozzle temperature - 310 ° C, table temperature - 100 ° C. For printing on the Roboze One + 400.

PC-ABS

Filament from a mixture of polycarbonate and ABS. Combines the mechanical properties of ABS and thermal PC. When printing gives a beautiful glossy surface, used in the repair and tuning cars. Nozzle temperature - 270 ° C, table temperature - 100 ° C. Can be used in both printers.

ASA

ASA - plastic with high hardness and rigidity. It tolerates ultraviolet radiation, is stable at elevated temperatures. It is used in auto repair and making products resistant to weathering. With the new Roboze One it is able to surprise with high quality printouts without post processing, as its properties are optimal for use with a small nozzle diameter.
For printing on Roboze One.

Nylon-6

Nylon-6 - polyamide with high resistance to prolonged mechanical loads. Compared to nylon-12 (Roboze Functional), it has greater compressive strength, but less tensile strength, and also slightly greater strength to shock loads. For printing on Roboze One.

ABS-HD

ABS plastic with powder additives that improve the appearance of the surface while maintaining the high mechanical properties of ABS. It is recommended for receiving prints with an optimum ratio of durability and appearance. For printing on Roboze One.

What are interesting Roboze printers?

Both printers are interesting primarily for print quality - the mechanical rigidity and accuracy of the rack and pinion transfer ensures high repeatability of movements, and a thorough approach to the manufacture of printers and the quality of materials available for their production complete the picture.

Indicative of the fact that such giants as GE and the Israeli defense company Cyclone Ltd. have already appreciated the quality of the Italian printer.

General Electric purchased the Roboze One + 400 printer for the Knoll Nuclear Energy Laboratory in Niskuneun, New York, and Cyclone, a subsidiary of the defense concern Elbit Systems, bought the same machine with two extruders to work on their projects.

In both cases, the decisive criterion when choosing a supplier was that Roboze printers are one of the very few 3D printers that successfully print viscous refractory design polymers.
