United National Bureau of Finds: The first date in the history of the project, its creators marked the launch of new services.

Friends, with a little late we publish a report on the first month of the project.

September 1, 2008 was exactly one month old since the launch of the Internet portal of the Unified National Service “Lost and Found” www.buronahodok.info .

The Unified National Service “The Bureau of Finds” is a single information base for all forgotten, lost or found items. The launch of the project occurred in August 2008.

During the month of work, over 5,000 people from around the world have applied to the site for help. In addition to Russia and the CIS, the lost and found offices were visited by citizens, for example, countries such as Lithuania, Canada, the USA, Israel, China and even Brazil.

During the portal’s work, quite interesting statistics emerged: first place in missing and found was taken by pets - about 50%, all kinds of documents, diplomas and certificates - 20%, and the most unusual - state car numbers, such messages were published about 10%. The number of announcements of finds was unexpectedly high — about 40%. In such a short period of time we received many letters from people who were helped by our project. According to our statistics, a little more than 30 people found their losses.

However, we are not resting on our laurels: in September, two new services were launched on the website www.buronahodok.info . One allows users to independently extend the term of the announcement, and the second helps in finding lost items off-line. Now, when posting a loss / discovery message, the system will automatically generate the type of advertisement for printing with a detailed description, a photo (if available), as well as already formed tear tickets with all the contact information. The user will only print the ad.

The past month and the achieved results of the Unified National Service “Lost and Found” confirmed the need for such a service on the global Internet, as well as its effectiveness. We continue to work on improving the service and new features, and also try to make sure that as many users as possible on the Internet and offline know about the portal.
