Thawte WOT: Certificate for Email Signing

I read the Web of Trust topic and remembered that there is a way to get a valid certificate from Thawte for signing and encrypting email (and not only) for free.

Thawte has a free X.509 personal certificate program - Web of Trust . The essence of the program comes down to the fact that after registering on the site and going through the certification process, you will receive a certificate with your name, which will be trusted by all systems that have Thawte as the Root Certification Authority. And since it is one of the largest centers, almost everyone trusts it.

In short, you have to run: the system is based on the personal contact of a person who wants to receive a certificate and so on. notary After registering on the site you will have 0 certification points. Each of the notaries can add you a certain number of points depending on their "qualifications". To get points from a notary, you need to find him in the list of your region, arrange a meeting with him and meet in person, having two documents with you with identification photos.
