Allocacoc PowerHUB: Mobile USB Splitter

Allocacoc is known for its PowerCube product line. It is associated mainly with splitters of predominantly cubic shape, with and without extension.

Today we will talk about PowerHub.

The Dutch manufacturer Allocacoc creates designer electrical accessories . He has several successful crowdfunding campaigns, some of which ended only recently.

The main assortment is cubes-splitters , which differ in the length of the cord and the number of sockets.

Also in the assortment there are splitters of a more familiar form, and this year we also received a Bluetooth speaker and a USB splitter.

At this time, the company slightly violated the proportions of its recognizable shape, and instead of a cube, we have a parallelepiped measuring approximately 6.5 by 4.5 cm and weighing 190 grams (without plug) and 230 (with plug).

Its main task: to give the opportunity from one outlet to charge multiple gadgets.

The design consists of two parts, and this is because the PowerHub can perform the functions of the PowerBank. Capacity of the internal battery 5000 mAh.

Thus, if you do not need it as in a home USB-splitter (at my place it is constantly in operation and at least 3 of 4 ports are occupied), you can simply disconnect from the network, throw it into a backpack / bag, and wait for the plug your return:

PowerBank capacity seems to be small. It all depends on the scenario of using a smartphone or tablet. If you think about it, for example, for my whole life I had to use an external battery several times. Alas, adult life often proceeds according to a well-known algorithm: I always know where and when I find myself, and I don’t remember for a long time that I wouldn’t have time to get to the outlet. Charging for an emergency call - 5000 mAh is enough.

There is no fast charge function. Charges about 9-10 units in 15 minutes:

There is one more “but” with PowerBank. If you can connect four devices to the hub, then the PowerBank is designed to charge one at a time. Otherwise, it is cut off and, in order to use it again, it will be necessary to reconnect it to the network for at least a few seconds.

If you need to charge someone else away from the outlet, you can connect the PowerHub via a special MicroUSB output.

Since the thing is positioned as a designer, it was not without its “chips”. One of them can be seen in the photo above - this is a diode scale-indicator capacity. There are also special inserts from the two sides - they are used to fasten the wire:

By the way, when connected to a computer via PowerHUB, data transfer is possible.

Summarizing, I can say that this is a convenient and functional home gadget that has released several outlets. Prices for Allocacoc products in Russia are similar to official ones. Can be compared in the official store .

The cost of the same Allocacoc Powercube PowerUSB 2.0 - 1 490 rubles .
