Hollywood studio Warner Bros. plans to retake the cult film of the Wachowski sisters “The Matrix” (1999), reports The Hollywood Reporter, citing its own sources. The proposal to retake the cult tape came from the producer of the original “The Matrix” - Joel Silver.

On the participation of Lily and Lana Wachowski, who were the writers and directors of the original trilogy, nothing is known. For the same reason, Keanu Reeves will most likely not participate in the restart, who have repeatedly stated that he will act in the continuation of the franchise only when working on her Wachowski.
