AnTuTu specifications

Appearance

The tablet looks strictly and solidly: a little less than 6 mm thick, in an aluminum case with silvery chamfers around the perimeter and with a matte, silky to the touch surface in metallic gray. When you take it in your hand, the device feels firmly knit, as if monolithic. But at the same time, the sleek aluminum body is better to hold tight, because it is more slippery than most plastic, especially compared to soft touch.

Included are the power supply and cable USB-USB Type C.

On the back wall in the upper part there is a plastic insert, apparently for antennas.

At the top of the tablet, too, there is a long dielectric insert:

There is also an audio jack and microphone hole:

On the left side is a tray for a SIM card and a memory card. Only nano SIM and Micro SD can be inserted into it:

On the right side are the power and volume buttons:

Below are the speaker grids and the USB Type C connector. The Home button is not made of a touch, but of a mechanical, elongated shape. It protrudes slightly above the surface so that it is easy to find by touch.

The entire front part is covered with a glossy protective glass Gorilla Glass 3 with oleophobic coating.

Display

The ZenPad 3S 10 LTE installed a 9.7-inch display on the IPS-matrix with a resolution of 1536 x 2048. The image is absolutely smooth, without any pixel. The brightness margin is quite decent, and during the day in the bright sun you can use quite comfortably. The fields to the right and to the left of the display (in portrait orientation) are about 5 mm wide, and in general the display occupies 78% of the front side of the planest.

The color gamut is 95% NTSC. Also, the tablet is equipped with the technology of compensation for distortion when moving objects in the video, as well as a system of adaptive contrast adjustment for a better image in shadows and highlights.

Sound

In the review of the ASUS ZenFone 3 Ultra phablet, it was told about the DTS Headphone: X technology, which allows to get a much higher-quality and surround sound when using DTS-compatible headphones. ZenPad 3S 10 LTE also boasts the presence of a DTS Headphone: X, which allows you to output 7.1-channel sound. In addition, the tablet supports technology to improve the sound quality of the Sonic Master 3.0 and DTS-HD Premium Sound.

Performance

The tablet is installed Android 6 with a proprietary graphic shell ZenUI. The 64-bit six-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 MSM8956 , operating at a clock speed of up to 1.8 GHz, was chosen as the brain. In the role of the graphics chip serves Adreno 510, as is the case with the ZenPhone 3 Ultra.

A powerful processor with a large amount of memory very confidently pulls heavy sites with clever scripts, video in 4K. Android works quickly, everything opens smoothly and without delay. There were no problems with games either. Due to the large area, the tablet heats up weaker than many powerful smartphones, it is comfortable to hold it in your hands even after lengthy post-lap shots. The body material plays an important role here - aluminum, which dissipates heat much more intensively than plastic.

The battery in the ZenPad 3S 10 LTE is quite decent - 7800 mAh, 30 W * h. It seems that the volume is not champion, but it is enough for the tablet to work 11 hours during load testing.

And note that the connector here is not the usual MicroUSB, but USB Type-C. Now people have not so many devices with such ports, so if you need to urgently charge the tablet, and the charge is left at home, the usual way to “ask your colleagues” may not work. But it charges quickly enough.

Conclusion

ZenPad 3S 10 LTE can be called a tablet "for yourself, loved one." A stylish design, an aluminum case, a 2K display, a powerful battery and the ability to install a 4G / LTE SIM card - such a gadget is unlikely to want to be torn apart by a child, or made into a general device. With this tablet, you can work long hours in isolation from the outlet, without sacrificing performance and image quality. A good display with high resolution asks and the corresponding video content, which "weighs" a lot, so that fast mobile Internet becomes a necessity, which is reflected in the name of the tablet. And in combination with support for DTS sound, the ZenPad 3S 10 LTE turns into a real “sums” multimedia center.

Recommended retail price: 29,990 rubles.
