Let's talk about interaction with freelancers

For many, especially small organizations, due to the acute shortage of manpower, project management is increasingly moving into the plane of interaction with remote specialists and freelancers. Differences in the principles of remote workflow organization from work in a team entail well-known costs, in particular:

1. The impossibility of accurate planning and control of deadlines (today the computer broke a freelancer, yesterday I had a headache, and tomorrow there would certainly be family troubles).

2. The mismatch of the work schedule of the project manager and the time of the contractor’s activity (the difference in time zones for me personally does not seem to be a weighty argument, I think it’s worth including compensation for possible discomfort associated with changing the artist’s schedule).

3. Lack of trust on both sides - when the project manager and the contractor are in different cities, and even states, it is quite problematic to adhere to the confidence that the opposite party will fulfill the terms of the agreement (contract, TK), which is often mutually agreed by only recorded by correspondence by email or chat in IM.

Actually, continually facing the above difficulties, I was puzzled by the analysis of previous experience and the compilation of some rules of interaction between the company (customer) I represent and the remote employee (performer), and therefore I propose to take an active part and share experience and / or ready-made developments in this context to all habra people related to project management. The opinions of freelancers on this score will also be very interesting (what, in your opinion, for example, is the optimal [really motivating] fine for not meeting the deadlines? What is the premium for ahead of schedule?).

Following the discussion, I will certainly lay out the final document, which will be fixed by me with further interaction with freelancers - I think that such will be useful not only for me alone ... Those who have already developed such regulations for themselves, I think it's time to rethink and optimize them :)
